LOCAL EDUCATOR AND COACH DIES

​Home Going Celebration for our beloved Mr. Bernis C. Spain, age 61 husband of Mrs. Audrey Huggins Spain formally of the Bucksport section of Horry County but living in Conway, will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 27 from the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Willie J. Dozier Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening September 26 from 7-9 PM at McKiever ​Funeral Home.

​Loving Family include loving and devoted wife, Audrey Spain; loving mother, Mrs. Flossie Sherman Spain; one daughter Sabrina Spain (Kevin) Batts, and son, Bernis C. Spain, II both of Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Donte` Steele, Briana Steele, Celeb Steele and Selina Batts;  three siblings, Kiella (Ronald) Hunt of New York; Mary (Tyrone) Bray of Columbia, South Carolina, Leon (Veronica) Spain of Bucksport, South Carolina; the Huggins family and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends,former students and the Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc.

​Bernis is preceeded in death by his father, Deacon William K. Spain, Sr.,  his sister, Flossie (Winston) Barr, Conway, South Carolina, brother, William (Georgette) Spain, Ft. Worth Texas.
