Mr. Earnest Lee Stackhouse passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019. He was born on August 18, 1954 in Conway, SC to the late Odell Stackhouse, Sr and Ethel Ree Durant Stackhouse.
He received most of his education in Horry County Schools and was employed by Frank Spain Construction Company many years ago.
Earnest was affectionately nicknamed "Fred" or "Plez" by family and friends since his childhood. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and his never-ending love for music in which he mastered playing the drums. He was known throughout the St. Paul community for always lending a helping hand and a smiling face to family, friends and even strangers. He also dedicated his life to the Lord and became a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Ree Durant Stackhouse, his father, Odell Stackhouse, Sr.; three brothers: Odell Stackhouse, Jr, Harry Stackhouse and Willie Arnold Stackhouse.
The cherished legacy he leaves behind is of his four children: Ernest Vondell (Jennifer) Stackhouse of Katy, Texas, Marlene Michelle (Tony) Carter of Socastee, South Carolina, Franklin Cornelius (Jilleian) Stackhouse of Dallas, Texas and Anita Foust of Richmond, Virginia. One surviving sibling, a brother, Ivey Joe (Mary Sue) Stackhouse of Conway, South Carolina, a former wife and close friend Chris Ann Stackhouse Tucker of Socastee, South Carolina. He was blessed with nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A very special cousin, Davis "Snookie" (Bernadine) Holland of Conway, South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 3449 Highway 65, Conway, SC. A wake will be held from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2019 at McKiever Funeral Home, Conway, SC.
