James William Young

Funeral Services for Mr. James William Young " Jimmy" 67 , will be at the Greater True Light Ministries, 485 Robert Grissom Parkway Myrtle Beach, SC on Wednesday January 2, 2019 at 12:00 noon. 

Mr. James "Jimmy" Williams Young was born on May 22, 1951 in Holly Ridge, NC.  He was the son of the late Robert Young and Charity Chestnut.  Jimmy departed this earthly life on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 surrounded by his family at his home in Myrtle Beach, SC. 

Jimmy was a 1970 graduate of Whittemore High School.  Jimmy accepted Christ as his personal Savior, was baptized and joined Greater True Light Ministries.  In 2002, under the leadership of Bishop Alfred Williams, Jimmy became a deacon.  On February 2, 2003, he married Mary M. Young and they were blessed with 15 years of holy matrimony.

Jimmy was a retired United States Air Force Technical Sergeant (TSGT) after twenty-two years of service.  His work history included:  Myrtle Beach Honda, Coastal Grand Mall-Security and Broadway at the Beach.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  his lovely and devoted wife, Mary, his children: Gayle Young who preceded him in death, Beverly Young, Trinette Young and John Young; two step children, Gregory Bethea( Mesha) and Brandon Bethea; five sisters: Vernell Chestnut Alston (Burnice), Queen Y. Bowens (Prince), Geraldine Hassell (Cecil), Rena Bragg (Cleveland) and Geraldine Odom: two brothers, Robert L. Young, Jr. and Artie Odom, Jr.; four sisters-in-law: Annie Wilson, Donethil Cruz (Luis), Vanessa Cox, and Deatricia Myers, twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
