OBITUARY

Rev. Verna Elizabeth Wallace daughter of the late LaCelia Scudder-Hoagland and the late William Hoagland departed from this life on November 17, 2018 in Conway. South Carolina. She was raised in Pennington, NJ and educated in Hopewell Valley District. After graduation she met and married Herbert C. Wallace. The Lord blessed them with three children, two sons Scott and Robert [deceased] and one daughter Tracey.

Verna accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour at the age of 7. She was a dedicated servant of the Lord until He took her home to be with Him.

She received degrees from Rider College, Antioch University and Liberty University, in Business Administration, Social Work, Human Service/Psychology and Marriage and Family Counseling.  She had a long rich career in Social work, Psychology and Health and Human Services and was an Advocate for American with Disability while working for Rider College, United Cerebral Palsy Elizabeth Boggs at Robert and Wood Johnson Medical Center. She was the CEO of the Renaissance Counseling Firm which she founded.

Verna was a gifted Sunday School Teacher and Bible expositor. She accepted the calling on her life and was  licensed Febuary 15, 1997 then Ordinated on November 11, 2006 by Rev. Frederick C. Johnson of the Christ Baptist Church, Burlington, NJ. Rev Wallace was the teacher for the Women's, Sunday School class, a member of the W. I. Wright Ensemble Choir, Drama Ministry, Facilitator of the Beauty for Ashes Women's Ministry and Conference Speaker.

Verna relocated to Conway, South Carolina in September 2017 where she joined fellowship at Bethleham #1 MBC under Rev. Doctor Sonny Bridges. Verna joined the Christian Education Ministry, taught the adults on the 3rd Sunday. Verna continued working for the Lord until he called her home to be with HIM.

She was survived by her brother William [wife] Caroline, California, her son Scott [wife] Lorrie, Pennsylvania and her daughter Tracey, California. Six grandchildren, Michael, Alexis, Ayanna, Jasinia, William, and Deanna. one Great grandson, Zane as well as a host of grand nieces and nephew and friends.
