Beth Crow, who loved to be called “Grammy” by her grandkids, departed her loving family on
Feb. 18, 2024
Born on December 23, 1939, in Providence, R.I. Beth was the daughter of Louis Joseph Wine
and Rosann Slavins. She grew up in Miami, Florida, and graduated from the University of
Florida in 1962. After marrying Ronald Crow in Miami, Florida, on January 29, 1961, in the
home of Bea and Max Robbins (Bea being Rosann’s first cousin), they moved to Baton Rouge,
Louisiana, where Beth gave birth to their two children, David and Dana.
In 1967, Beth, Ron and the 2 children moved to Bolingbrook, IL. There Beth was the director of
a preschool and was elected to the Library Board, with her name engraved on a plaque in the
entryway of the Bolingbrook, Illinois Public Library. The family then moved to Anaheim,
California, from 1972 to 1976 and then to Topeka, Kansas, in February 1977. In Topeka,, Beth
created a monthly newspaper called “The Sherwood Gazette” and served as the Newcomers'
Welcome Lady for the city of Topeka for eight years. She became a real estate agent in 1987
and continued her real estate career after arriving in Myrtle Beach in 1998. Beth was very active
in the community, serving as chairman of the Myrtle Trace Activities Committee for phases 1-7,
organizing the Newcomers Coffee Group, serving as the Recording Secretary for Hadassah,
and being a member of Temple Shalom and its Sisterhood. She also held the role of Queen
Mother in her Red Hat Group, was part of The Merry Magnolias, and served as President of the
T.O.P.S chapter on Forestbrook Rd.
Beth is survived by her children: David Crow and his wife, Paula Crow of Myrtle Beach;
Dana Crow Zedd of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Joshua, Marceline Crow and Alleigh Myers of Myrtle
Beach; Harrison Crow of Gettysburg, PA; Jacob, Michael, and Eliot Zedd of Richmond, Virginia.
She is also survived in Miami, Florida, by her sister, Hope Wine, and her wife, Mary Prados; her
brother, Jeff Wine as well as nieces Carly Haughman and Jessica Wine.
