LOS, AS HE WAS AFFECTIONATELY CALLED BY HIS FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS, DECIDED TO FOLLOW IN HIS FATHER'S FOOTSTEPS AND STARTED WORKING AT THE SANDS OCEAN CLUB AS A BELL CAPTAIN AND A SECURITY GUARD. HE WOULD OFTEN SPEND HIS FREE TIME LAUGHING, JOKING, AND SHOWING OFF HIS FAMOUS DANCE MOVES. HE WAS ALWAYS THE LIFE OF ANY PARTY. CARLOS HAD A LOVE FOR THE OUTDOORS, OFTEN FINDING HIM FISHING, DIGGING FOR CLAMS AND OYSTERS, DEER HUNTING, AND OCCASIONALLY SETTING TRAPS FOR RACCOONS.

“LOS'' LOVED AND WAS A DIEHARD PITTSBURGH STEELERS FAN. HE NEVER WAVERED, HE SUPPORTED THEM WIN OR LOSE. CARLOS’S LIGHT ALWAYS SHINED. GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY HE WOULD ALWAYS HELP, NEVER MEETING A STRANGER. CARLOS WOULD OFTEN SAY “I’M A JACK OF ALL TRADES, MASTER OF NONE.” HE WAS A VOLUNTEER COOK, ENTERTAINER AT FAMILY GATHERINGS, MECHANIC, PAINTER, PLUMBER, AS WELL AS MANY OTHER SKILLS.
