Clinton Russell Eppes, was born on December 12, 1942 in Blackstone, VA. The fourth of six children to the late Clinton J. Eppes and Ruth M. Wynn Eppes. He was called to his eternal resting place on April 10, 2025.
Clinton, or affectionately called “Sonny” received his early education from Nottoway Training School In Blackstone, VA and graduated with honors from Luther H. Foster High School In 1961. After high school, he did attend a post-secondary college. In 1963, he moved to New York City, where he began working at Elmhurst Hospital In Queens, New York. Where he worked as a hospital police officer for over 35 years. Sonny retired from the hospital corporation In 2009.
Sonny married the former Olevia Adams on June 8, 1985. After them both working In New York, they later retired and moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Sonny was always a man of God, joining Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church In Myrtle Beach. Where he served faithfully, assisting as many people as he can but a very quiet spirited man.
Sonny was preceded In death by three sisters, Vivian Eppes, Jestine Dubose, Hattie Eppes-Robinson, one brother, James Eppes, and his parents.
He leaves to cherish loving and fond memories to; his wife of 40 years, Olevia Adams Eppes of the home, one sister Lillian (Ernie) Eppes of Monroe, NC, five children, 9 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
