Ms. Debbie Yvonne Watts transitioned into her heavenly resting place on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Ms. Watts was the daughter to the late Mr. and Mrs. John and Marie Watts of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The family will be accepting visitors at the daughter's residence in Myrtle Beach, address below.

Funeral Arrangements are scheduled as follows:

Visitation: Monday, March 3, 2025, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at McKiever Funeral Home, Inc. of Conway, SC

Celebration of Life: Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 11:00 am at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach, SC.

OBITUARY OF DEBBIE YVONNE WATTS

 

Debbie Yvonne Watts was born to the late John A. Watts, Sr. and Marie Ann Brockington Watts on February 5, 1958. She peacefully transitioned into eternal rest at home with her children on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Debbie was preceded in death by two brothers: John Watts, Jr. and Michael Watts, one sister, Mary Myers, one aunt, Margaret Wills, and one niece, Courtni McCollum.

Debbie attended the public schools of Horry County. She graduated from Myrtle Beach High School, class of 1976. She later continued her education at Horry-Georgetown Technical College, where she obtained an associate of science degree in business administration.

Throughout Debbie’s career, she was employed by the Sea Captain’s House Restaurant, The Breakers Resort, Krispy Kreme, and Big Mike’s Soul Food. She was extremely passionate about cooking.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who took pride in protecting her children. She was stern and straightforward, a selfless woman who loved and trusted God. Knowing that this day would surely come, she accepted Christ as her personal savior. She joined Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health declined. Serving on the usher board, mass choir, YWA, and the cuisine ministry. She served as president over the cuisine ministry, cooking and serving delicious meals to any and everyone.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: two daughters; Nekeya Watts of Columbia, SC and Brittany (William) Watts Vaught of Myrtle Beach, SC, five grandchildren; Brianna Thompson, Dazaria Thompson, Keshauna Ludley, Kavonte Vaught, and Kamoree Vaught, three sisters; Deborah Watts, Marie Watts, and Cheryl Lynn Watts-Etheridge, three brothers; James (Sandra) Brockington, Gerald (Georgia) Watts, and, Robert Watts, one uncle; George (Vanessa) Watts, a very special friend, Calvin Goings, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
