Mr Dexter Joseph Cooper

Dexter Joseph Cooper, affectionally known to most as the “Gently
Giant” was born to the marital union of James E. Cooper Jr., and
Mrs. Janie Wilson Cooper on January 19, 1972 in Fort Jackson, SC.
His father and one nephew Ricky A. Cooper II preceded him in
death.
     Dexter J. Cooper was educated in the public schools of Horry County
where he attended Myrtle Beach High School and attended Coastal
Carolina University and HGTC. He was a decorated Navy Veteran
with specialized training to include Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
He worked as a Finance Administrator, Licensed Health Care
Provider, License Heavy Machine Operator with CDL, and an
amateur comedian as well as other hidden talents.
God called him home on Monday, August 7, 2023, where he was
surrounded by his loved ones and friends.
     Dexter leaves to cherish his loving memories; his loving and devoted
mother Janie Cooper, one brother; Ricky Cooper Sr. (Carolyn
Cooper sister in law), three loving children: Javon Cooper (JD) of
Lubbock, TX, Dexter Cooper Jr. of Charleston, SC, and one daughter
Ambria C. Cooper of Conway, SC and one niece Ariel Cooper of
Warrenton, VA. A host of aunts and uncles nationwide and locally
Dorothy and Lamont Bowdre’ of Conway, SC. A host of cousins,
relatives, and very very close friends worldwide.
