Eloise Parker Obituary

On Saturday, November 13, 2021, our beloved Eloise Parker transitioned to enter her heavenly home after living a sweet and gentle earthly life. Eloise was well known as a devoted daughter and a loving sister, and most importantly, a child of God, always willing to let God lead her and always displaying His enormous will in her life.

Eloise was born on April 19, 1930 in Conway, South Carolina, to the late Sam (Boss) and Hattie Parker. The bond between Eloise and her parents was strong and very special, and could be witnessed by anyone who saw them together. Under her mother’s guidance and rearing, she began her spiritual life at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

As a child, Eloise attended Oak Grove Training School, and enjoyed that experience, until an unexpected illness changed the course of her life. After becoming ill, Eloise became dependent on others for care, and her mother was devoted to caring for her until the time of her death in 2003. After her mother’s death, Eloise’s eldest sister, Janie Mae, assumed the honor of caring for her. With the assistance of their younger sister Mary, Janie Mae briefly took Eloise to reside with her in New Jersey. In 2005, Janie Mae decided to return home, to allow Eloise to live and thrive in the home she knew and loved. That move allowed Eloise to live an active life with family and loved ones, until her health began to fail in 2019.

Eloise’s life was defined by love. It was a life that taught us all how to show love to others, even when it can’t be clearly expressed in words, just as she did. Eloise will be greatly missed by those who loved her most. She leaves to cherish her Memory: a special sister and caretaker, Mrs. Janie Mae Booth of Conway, SC; two additional sisters, Mrs. Mary Williams (Ronald) and Mrs. Stella Davis (Edward), both of Conway, SC; one brother, Mr. Eugene Parker (Barbara) also of Conway, SC. She also leaves a host of loving aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Eloise will now be able to reunite in heaven with her parents, Sam and Hattie, and her two brothers William (Buddy) and Sampson, all of whom preceded her in death.

Psalm 37:11 says, “For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.”  Eloise has lived a loving, faithful and humble life, and the Lord has adorned her with salvation. While her love and presence will be greatly missed, we rejoice in the gift of her eternal life in her new heavenly home.
