Eugene Groomes

Eugene Groomes was born July 4, 1947 in Washington, DC to Evelyn Palmer. HE departed this life on December 1, 2023 at his home. He was educated in the District of Columbia School System. Of coming of age, he moved to New Jersey working in the public roads division. After some years he met and married Gracie, which lasted almost 40 years. Ms. Gracie expired in 2022. Eugene remarried Dr. Evelyn McClendon in March of 2023. He leaves to their memory Gracie's children; Joyce Biggs (Jeffery), one brother, one sister, and a loving wife Evelyn. 

He was an active member of Word of Life Christian Fellowship located in the Bucksport Community. Employed at Eugenia's restaurant up to his death as a machine operator. He was a music enthusiast with many devices located in almost every room in the house and garage. Meeting people was not a problem for him, he could start a conversation with anyone at any time. Not being raised by his parents he rarely talked about his childhood and growing up and refused to answer questions related to the past. There was a good friend he met while living in Myrtle Beach, Damien Frinend. Eugene called him "his brother from another mother", their friendship relied on weekly calls and assisting monitoring his condo.
