Ms. Jaela Korrin Hemingway

Miss Jaela Hemingway entered this world on July 26, 2005 to Orin and Stephanie Hemingway in Charleston, South Carolina. Jaela transitioned from her earthly life to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 7:46 AM. She was a member of Pleasant Spring AME Church where she sang on the choir, was an acolyte and served on the Children’s Usher Board.

Jaela graduated from South Aiken High School in 2023 and went on to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree at  Southern New Hampshire University as an English major. She was a voracious reader and writer and her goal was to become a book editor.

She found joy in visiting Barnes & Noble as often as she could to select new books to devour. She found comfort in losing herself within the pages of each book and anticipated each character’s adventure.

Jaela and her sister, Ella, loved spending time watching musicals, such as Hamilton, but Shrek the Musical was their favorite. They knew every line and every song and they always made sure they could be heard throughout the house.

Miss Jaela took pride in caring for her family, especially her best friend, her father, Orin. She was loved by everyone she came in contact with because of her bright light and gracious spirit. Her fortitude will remain as a beacon of hope and love for all that knew her.

Jaela was preceded to Heaven by her Nana, Jeanwood Hemingway aka Fred and grandfather, Oscar Hickman.

Jaela leaves a legacy of love through: Her mother and father, Orin and Stephanie; her sister Ella; her grandparents, Walter and Sandra Savage; her great-grandmother, Dorothy Wingo Bannister; her beloved great aunts, Ruby Brown, Vermelle Ritter and Charity Hemingway; her uncle and aunt, Brice and LaToya Savage, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.

The family will be receiving visitors at the home of Ms. Ruby Brown, 8302 Ole Moore Drive, Conway, SC 29527.
