SFC Jerry Lee Dewitt was born on December 28, 1960 to Bernice and Raymond Dewitt, Sr. in Longs, SC. Jerry peacefully gained his wings on May 1, 2021 while surrounded by his family. Jerry was a graduate of North Myrtle HIgh School Class of 1980. Jerry joined the military on June 17, 1981. Jerry was an active member of Progressive Believers Baptist Church where he held many positions until his health began to decline. Jerry was joined in holy matrimony to Lorene Moore on November 18, 1983. They shared 37 years of marriage and were blessed with four daughters; Serlena, Beata and the late Lorene Nicole and Latoya Bernice Dewitt. Jerry was predeceased by his father, Raymond Dewitt Sr. Jerry leaves to cherish his memories his darling wife Lorene Dewitt, of Columbia, SC; two beautiful daughters, Serlena (Alessandro) and Beata Dewitt and his precious diamond granddaughter Adrena Walker all of the home; his loving mother Bernice Dewiit of Longs, SC.; four brothers, Raymond Jr (Debbie), Tommy, Ronnie, and John Dewitt of Longs, SC; three sisters, Fleetie (Michael) Bryant, of Longs, SC, Zeltron and Pamela Dewitt, of Longs, SC; two sisters-in-law, Jessie Cook, of Birmingham, AL and Johnnie Barker, of Tacoma, WA; two brothers-in-law John and Darryl Moore, of Birmingham, AL; fourteen nieces, eighteen nephews; ten great-nieces and fourteen great-nephews; and one uncle, Harry Bellamy, of Longs, SC. Jerry also leaves behind many loving cousins, and other family members and a host of special friends, Jimmy Frazier, Curtis Bellamy, Covell Wilson and Johnny Willard.
