Junior Preston Pryor, commonly known as J.P. was born to the late Preston Pryor and Rudell Alston Pryor on December 16, 1929. He was proud to let everyone know, “ I was born and raised right here in Myrle Beach, SC,
JP has always been a hardworking man. A jack of all trades, even starting businesses with no formal education, one of which is still standing today. He had a heart of gold with a great giving spirit. He would often buy fruits and vegetables just to give them out to the community, and always there to lend a helping hand.
JP has been a devoted member of New Bethel AME Church for over 65 years. He loved to sing and praise the lord every chance he was given. The church was his 2nd home, he took pride in doing the up keeping of the church and the church grounds.
Jp has always loved the game of golf and would play on many weekends, and often try to teach the game to his children and grandchildren. He loved his family! His family was his pride and joy! Most of his adult life he spent with his family rather it was working beside them or giving teachable moments. He also was the best cheerleader, always wanting the best for his family. If you didnt have he would make sure you did.
JP married Selina Mae Pryor on December 9, 1957, Who he lovingly called “Mama”. He had such a great sense of humor. He loved her with his whole heart and she stuck beside him until he took his last breath.
Preceding in his death 4 grandchildren:Corvette Spivey, Shawn Pryor, Shawna Pryor, and Kamiyah MItchell.
He leaves to cherish in his loving memory a devoted wife Mrs.Selina Mae Pryor of 65 years of Myrtle Beach, SC. 8 Children; James Pryor Jr.(Mary) of Conway SC, Lucille Simmons (John Henry) of Myrtle Beach SC, Selina Ford of Galivants Ferry SC, Linda Owens of Riverdale GA, Thomas Pryor Sr. of Mytle Beach SC, Gregory Pryor Sr.(Sharon) of Myrtle Beach SC, Geoffrey Pryor Sr. of Myrtle Beach SC, Felicia Campbell (Anthony) of Galivants Ferry SC, one daughter in love Gwenita Myers Pryor of Myrtle Beach SC, one sister Christine Livingston of New York, one sister in-law Sarah Ford (Trenton) of Conway SC, 22 grandchildren many great and great great grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends,
