Laurel Best, 76 passed away peacefully at home. She was born to William Dixon and Violet Viola Hamilton in Kingston, Jamaica. She was the wife of the late Harold Best. Laurel worked for many years in retail in Jamaica and New York City before relocating to Conway, SC where she spent the remainder of her life. She loved everything about Conway. She enjoyed attending performances at the theater of the Republic, going to local festivals and trips to Brookgreen Gardens. She was an avid gardener and seamstress. She was also very active in the life of Kingston Presbyterian Church in Conway where she faithfully attended worship and served. She especially enjoyed working in the church nursery where the children brought her as much joy as she brought them.
Laurel is survived by four sons: Francisco Campbell( London, England), Oliver Dunkley (Kingston, Jamaica), Jerome Codner( Conway,SC) and Orlando Campbell (Kingston, Jamica). She is also survived by 11 Grandshildren and two very close friends Bradley and Aaron Hardee who she considered her " adopted sons".
The Memorial Service will be Officiated by the Rev. J. Robert Bannan, Jr.
