Linda Faye (Cogdell) Holmes

Linda Faye Cogdell Holmes born on August 23, 1958, in Miami, Florida to parents, Isaac and Eva Mae Cogdell.

She graduated from Miami Central High School in 1976. She was married to Oscar Holmes, Jr., and they had one son, Nuji Holmes. 

Linda was employed at Piccadilly Cafeteria for 5 years in Miami, Florida in Dade County Risk Management Department for 5 years. She moved to Myrtle Beach in 1989 and worked at Kingston Plantation Radisson Hotel for 10 years and worked full-time at Lowes Home Improvement until she retired.  

Linda joined Mt. Zion AME Church over 30 years ago. She served on several different auxiliary boards. She really loved her church and singing on the choir. 

She leaves to cherish her loving son, Nuji Holmes of the home, Oscar Holmes, III, Ida (James) Sadie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Willie (Gwen) and Thurman both of Troy, NY; her sisters: Patricia Bauldrick and Cynthia Johnson both of Florida. Linda cherished her two loving grands: Elijah and Elissa  Holmes; three aunts: Joanne Douglas, Kathrine Cogdell, and Thelma Lee Brown; two sisters-in-law: Gladys Holmes and Sarah Heyward; three brothers-in-law: George (Pearl), Kelly and Henry Holmes. A host of nieces, nephews and friends. Special god children: King Jordan and Lina; special friends: Jessi Johnson, Carolyn Johnson, Barbara Davis, and best friend forever, Diane Blackshear..
