In Loving Memory of

Mack Neil Gagum Jr.

Sunrise: May 5 th , 1940 Murrells Inlet, SC • Sunset: July 11, 2025 – Conway, SC

Mack Neil Gagum Jr., beloved son of the late Rebecca Poinsett Gagum and Mack Gagum Sr., passed away peacefully at
Oak View Nursing Home in Conway, South Carolina, on July 11th, 2025, at 6:00 AM.

Born in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Mack was educated in Horry County, attending Whitmore Elementary and High
School. After high school, he relocated to New York, where he built a successful life and career. He was the proud owner
of a thriving carpet company in Westchester, New York, known for his work ethic, business acumen, and dedication to his
clients.

Mack cherished the time he spent with his siblings in Brooklyn — Gussie Gagum, Dorothy Gagum, Willie “Bill” Gagum,
and Sarah Gagum — who also spent periods of their lives in New York. Their gatherings were full of laughter,
storytelling, and southern comfort food that reminded them of home — each visit felt like Thanksgiving, filled with love
and good food.

Mack was previously married to Pauline Green of Little River; SC. Pauline now resides in Durham, North Carolina, with
her son, Troy Mike Gagum, and daughter-in-law, Gina Bell Gagum.

Mack will be fondly remembered for:

 His love of cooking and baking
 His deep ties to family and regular visits from New York to Conway to see his parents
 His natural talent for algebra
 His generosity and kind heart, always giving to friends and family alike
He was preceded in death by his sisters Gussie, Dorothy, and Sarah Gagum, and his brother Willie “Bill” Gagum.

Mack leaves to cherish his memory:

 Children:
o Nathaniel Lee Brown Gagum (Trevose, PA)
o Troy Mike Gagum (Durham, NC)
o Michael Green Gagum (Lewisburg, TX)
o Glenn “Mickey” Green Gagum (Arlington, TX)
o Keisha Denise Gagum (South Carolina)
o Dedra Dowel Gagum (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
 Grandchildren: Nine
 Great-grandchildren: Two
 Nieces and Nephews: Many, all of whom loved and respected him deeply

Special thanks go to cousin Sean “Sherwin” Gagum and his wife Zee, who lovingly cared for Mack during his later
years. Their compassion and patience, especially during the difficult days, did not go unnoticed and will forever be
appreciated by the family. Mack considered Sean to be his son also.

Mack’s legacy is one of generosity, strength, and unwavering love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but
the memories he created and the love he shared will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
