Obituary
Mrs. Marie Sherman Weaver, the youngest and last surviving daughter of the fourteen children raised in the home of the late Rev. Buck and Beulah Faulk Sherman was born October 12, 1931 in Bucksport, SC. As God looked over His garden, He chose to pick this beautiful flower and add her to His heavenly bouquet
on Thursday, May 9, 2024. She transitioned at Grand Strand Memorial Hospital in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Marie received her formal education through the Richardson Training School in Bucksport.
Growing up in a religious home, at an early age she was converted and joined
Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, where she worked and served faithfully in several capacities, including The Missionary Society, and sang with the Gospel and Senior Choirs for many years. She also served her community through the Willing Workers Society until her health declined.
She was a hard worker and worked for many years at AVX. When she wasn’t working you could find her enjoying one of her favorite past-times...on the riverbank fishing.
Marie was joined in holy matrimony to the late Alonzo Weaver and the union was blessed with eleven children. Preceding her to the grave along with her husband were two daughters Priscilla Sumpter and Brenda Swinton, and one son Ronnie Weaver.
Precious memories will be cherished by eight children. Seven daughters: Ueline (Waders) Lesane, Nelisa Geathers, Melinza Weaver of Bucksport, S.C.; Linda Weaver, Pam (Frankie) Bowens, Katherine Moore of Conway, S.C., and Donna Jean Weaver of Charlotte, N.C.; one son Alonzell Weaver of Bucksport, S.C.; 26 grandchildren,
60 great grands, and 12 great-great grands.
Five sisters-in-law; Charlotte Sherman, Faustine (Tony) Barrett, Olivia Jordan, Christina (John) Bennett, and Patsy McKinnies. A host of sorrowing nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
