Mazie Caroline was born on April 13, 1936, in Conway, South Carolina to the late Cephus R. Singleton and Virginia B. Huggins-Singleton.
She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 23rd at home, surrounded by her family.
Mazie attended the public schools of Horry County and was a 1956 graduate of Whittemore High School.
She devoted herself to the care and upkeep of the home, creating an environment where everyone felt welcome and cherished. Her gift for nurturing extended far beyond her immediate family. She provided care for many children and delighted in doing their hair, leaving behind memories of both care and creativity.
At an early age, Mazie joined Greater St. James A.M.E. Church. She found joy in singing, where her voice uplifted others through music and songs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Charles L. Singleton; three sisters, Essie Ann, Leona, and Rosabell; and one brother, Harold Singleton. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Elnita (Calisto) and Mary (Neal); one son, Willie Singleton; and one brother, Henry Lee Singleton. Mazie was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives to carry her memory forward.
