Mrs. Mildred (Pluma) Finkley Stover Knox was born in Horry County, SC to the late Pency and Joseph Finkley on July 23, 1924. She departed this life on April 27, 2022 at her home in Myrtle Beach, SC.
She was educated in Horry County Public Schools and a graduate of Whittemore High School, Conway, SC. Mildred accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and became a member of St. Mary MB Church later moving her membership.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie Stover. To this union five children were born. She was preceded in death by three children: one son, Willie, Jr, who died in infancy and two daughters, Joyce S. Geathers and Deborah S. Gowans.
After the death of her first husband, she then married Charles Knox and relocated to New York for more than twenty years. After Charles' death she returned to her home in Myrtle Beach, SC.
She worked as a private duty nurse, Joan Croley Clothing Store and retired from Belk's Clothing Store.
She leaves to cherish her love and memory to two daughters: Judy S. Williams of the home and Beverely (John) Manigault of Georgetown, SC; one son-in-law, Walter Geathers, Jr of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister-in-law, Mary S. Green of Conway, SC and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
