Tommie K. Campbell, affectionately known as “Boot,” was born on January 11, 1956, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to the late Pastor Maude Kennedy Ridges and Moses Kennedy. She peacefully transitioned from this life on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the age of 69.
At an early age, Tommie gave her life to Christ and boldly lived out her calling. She received the gift of prophecy as a young girl and never wavered in her faith, even when others considered being a Christian unpopular. She persevered, keeping her trust in the Lord, and walked faithfully with Him throughout her life.
She was educated in the Horry County Public Schools and later accepted her divine calling to ministry. Pastor Campbell worked as a foster parent, allowing children to come into her home for comfort and guidance. Following in the footsteps of her beloved mother, she embraced the mantle of leadership and dedicated more than 24 years to serving God’s people. She faithfully pastored Household of Faith, where her love for God, her family, and her church was evident in all that she did. Pastor Campbell was deeply committed to her members—if she didn’t see you in church, she made sure to check on you with a call, a prayer, or even a personal visit to your home.
On June 3, 1978, she united in marriage to Charles Campbell, and although their journey ended in divorce, they remained lifelong friends and shared a deep bond. To this union, one son was born: Michael Campbell of Columbia, South Carolina.
Pastor Campbell’s life was filled with service, sacrifice, and love. She was a prayer warrior, teacher, counselor, and friend. She never met a stranger and always had a bold witness about the goodness of the Lord. Many will remember her for her homemade cooking, especially her famous dressing and green beans, but even more for her words of wisdom, encouragement, and her unwavering faith. Among her favorite sayings were: “I mean heaven every step of the way” and “God don’t hold me accountable for how you treat me, He only holds me for how I treat you.” Also, while pastor she was heavily Involved In the Community Giveback Outreach and gifted scholarships to students.
