Richard Clair Petitt, 59, died due to complications stemming from Coronavirus on December 30, 2020 at Grandstrand Regional Medical Center. 

Mr. Petitt was born in Orlean, New York on October 29, 1961 to Raymond Petitt Sr. and Claira (Maile) Petitt. He attended his studies at Bradford Area High School in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Upon graduating high school, he entered the United States Armed Forces as an Airman in the Air force where he served primarily as an Information Technologist. Finishing his military services in the 1990s, he became a manager at Choice Magazine and then a manager at Scotchman Stores.

Mr. Petitt met and married his wife, Eleanor Juanita (Moore) Petitt in Homestead, Florida in August of 1983. He shared the responsibility of fatherhood for his stepdaughters, Tara Bellamy and Nissa Bellamy. The couple welcomed a daughter, Lisa Christina Petitt, June 4, 1984. Mr.

Mr. Petitt was a church member at Mount Calvary #2 Missionary Baptist Church in Little River, South Carolina. He also attended church at the Apache Family Campground on occasion with his friends. He spent his last days in health transporting individuals to doctor’s appointment and running errands for those that were shut in due to health issues.

In addition to his parents, Raymond Sr and Claira Petitt, Mr. Petitt was predeceased by a brother, Randy Petitt, two sisters, Carol Hurst and Sharon Petitt and his wife, Eleanor (Moore) Petitt.

Mr. Petitt is survived by sisters, Martha Cawley (Dennis) of Bradford, Pennsylvania and Shawn Corah (Kurt) of Emlenton, Pennsylvania; A brother, Raymond Petitt Jr (Fran) of Salamanca, New York. His daughters, Lisa Petitt-Martin (George II), Tara Bellamy, Nissa Bellamy all of Conway, South Carolina; Grandchildren (oldest to youngest) Mia, Naya, Dominique, Eli, Laila, George III and Ean; a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

At the request of Mr. Petitt, there will be no church services held. Visitation will commence at McKiever Funeral Home, 1408 Racepath Avenue, Conway, SC on Monday, January 4, 2021.
