Deaconess Sarah A. Gore, daughter of the late Melvin and Lou Bertha Greene was born February 18, 1934 in Horry County, South Carolina. She accepted Jesus Christ into her life as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined St. Paul AME Church where she remained a faithful and dedicated member until she was joined in holy wedlock to the late Deacon James C. Gore on December 27, 1958 of which she joined her husband's membership at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church #2 in Little River, South Carolina.
Sarah attended Horry County Public Schools. She worked in the hospitality profession as a residential cleaner. For decades she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many and whoever she crossed paths with.
Late Friday, July 17, 2020, Sarah departed her early life and transitioned to her heavenly home. She is preceded in death by her husband, James C. Gore, both parents, Melvin and Lou Bertha, her brother, Willie Ernest Greene and her sister, Gracie Riggins Gore.
Sarah leaves to cherish the sweetest of memories, four children: Patricia G. Chestnut (Ellis), Loria Gore, Gloria Gore and James E. Gore (Patrice). One sister, Mable Bellamy; two sisters-in-law: Sarah Stephens and Mable Greene; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Gore (Bonita); seven grandchildren: Quijanda "Keisha" Gore, Tonya Gore-Baskett (Vidal), James A. "BoBo" Gore, Na'Shekia Gore, Brandon "ET" Gore (Kourtney), Jamesha Gore-Coggin (Kelly) and Ellis Jameson Chestnut. Six great-grandchildren: Joey "Jay" Willard, Jakai Purvis, Kayla Gore, Skyler Stanley, Geneia Gore and Kaylani Gore. Three children that she raised as her own: Audra Simmons, Kevin Simmons, Tommy Bell Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
