Thomas Pyatt Obituary

To our friends and families, in an effort to ensure the health and safety of everyone during this challenging time, and minimize the spread of COVID-19, we ask that all adhere to the precautions and guidelines established for attendance at the funeral home (mandatory masks) and (masks) at graveside services and practicing social distancing.  Anyone who exhibits symptoms please show your support by sending flowers and words of comfort to the family.

Mr. Thomas Pyatt, affectionately known as "TJ" was born on September 5, 1948 in Georgetown, South Carolina to the late James and Nellie Frierson Pyatt.

TJ was educated in the Horry County School system. He jointed the Job Corps where he obtained his GED. In 1968, TJ relocated to Rochester, New York with his sister Louise. He worked for several companies including Teale Machine and Gleason Works. TJ also worked construction, specifically roofing, and was the family handyman. In 1973, his beautiful daughter Laverne was born.

TJ knew how to have a good time. You had to love him. He loved music, he loved to dance and most importantly, he loved his family. TJ was also a good cook. In his love of life he enjoyed hobbies of fishing and gardening. TJ preferred riding his bicycle -- we called it his "two wheeled Cadillac".

On Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at age 72, TJ entered into eternal rest. He is preceded by his mother and father, and his brothers: William, Hardy, James and Arthur "Bub". He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Laverne Evans of Port St. Lucie, FL; sisters, Louise Weaver, Emily Williams and Nellie (Reggie) Kittles of Conway, SC and Carrie (Vandy) Wright of Rochester, NY; his brother, Joe Nathan (Debra) Pyatt of Stone Mountain, GA; 2 grandchildren, Marquisa and Markeith Evans; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including his special friend, Rosetta Johnson.
