Picture it, Conway, Tuesday, September 21, 1943, the world was forever changed, and the mold was broken with the entrance of Thomas Earl Richardson. He was the last son and child born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. and Mary Gore Richardson.
Thomas Earl grew up in the tight-knit community of Mount Calvary located in Conway, South Carolina. Thomas attended Chestnut High School in Horry County, where he graduated before beginning a life marked by hard work, family, and deep roots that he was trained and taught about, before he could even begin to understand what deep roots represented before he basically learned about what life in general consisted of in becoming the man that God eventually called him to become in his life.
In his early years, Thomas met the love of his life, Lucille Braham. Together, they welcomed their only biological child, Cheryl T. Richardson. Seeking new opportunities, Thomas and Lucille moved to New York, where Cheryl was born, before eventually settling in Miami, Florida in the late 1960s. Miami quickly became Thomas’s second home and the backdrop of many of his life’s milestones. Thomas built a long and respected career in the construction industry, ultimately retiring in the year 2010 from Melo Construction Company which is in Miami, Florida. Thomas was known for his dedication to his work, his family, and his community. Above all, Thomas was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he loved GOD, because that was instilled in him from his Christian upbringing.
He is survived by his former wife Mrs. Lucille Braham-Richardson, his loving daughter, Cheryl Tanya Richardson, four grandchildren; Alicia Richardson, Terrell Richardson, Travis Richardson, and Maurice Richardson, ten great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy of strength, resilience, and Christianity. Also, he leaves to mourn one brother, Frank C. Richardson (Mattie (Dec.). He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Richardson, sisters: Lola May Richardson, and Helen Richardson, brothers: Joseph (Linda)Richardson, and Wilbert (Shirley)Richardson, nineteen nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
