Ms. Yertha Bellamy Gaddy (aka Gee/Gerotha) was born to the late James Bellamy and Zelline Sherman Tucker on October 29, 1948 in Bucksport, SC.
On Thursday, December 7, 2023, the angel of eternal silence came and took our beloved Yertha to her eternal home.
She was preceded in death by one child, Gwendolyn Gaddy; two brothers: Johnny Wallace and Kenneth Bellamy, and two sisters: Zella Mae Williams and Rother Mae Hunt.
Yertha was educated in the Horry County Public Schools and worked in the hospitality industry until she retired.
Yertha was a loving person. She can best be described as being sweet, sassy, and outgoing. If you was having a bad day, she knew how to lift your spirits. She will be remembered as the family comedian and had a way with words that would have you laughing so hard you would forget whatever the problem was.
Yertha was married to the late Coley Gaddy.
She loved her family and went above and beyond for her children. She will surely be missed. Yertha leaves a legacy of love and devotion to God and her children: Glenda (Levester) McCray, Erica Joanna Anderson, and Covel Gaddy; ten grandchildren: Shameka Gaddy, Teresa Gaddy, LaQuona (Cedric) Green, Dionsio McCray, Pierre McCray, Inesha Gaddy, Tosha Hill, Quamaine Geathers, Timothy Shelton, and Timnasia Shelton; eleven great-grandchildren; four sisters: Marcella Sherman of Hopewell, VA; Joyce Bellamy, Rose (Minister Lee) Sarvis, and Sandra Bellamy, all of Conway, SC; two brothers: Elzie Bellamy and Derrick Wallace of Conway, SC; two aunts: Lillie Phillips and Ellen Hunt of Conway, SC; four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
